It was my daughter's 13th birthday yesterday and she wanted to go to Applebee's for dinner. We both ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad, my favorite salad there. Of course I wanted to try to make it at home, so I looked online at the many different copy cat recipes. After testing out a few, this is my version that tastes really close using grilled chicken instead of the crispy chicken: Oriental Chicken Salad.

Stromboli - I have found a couple of tricks of making Stromboli a simple process. One trick is to use the refrigerated pizza dough such as Pillsbury's Pizza Crust. Also, rather than rolling out the dough, I find it much easier to press it into a 15" x 10" greased baking sheet. No need to even pull out the rolling pin! (Mine is always tucked down under the cabinet and hard to get to.) Try our method and you can see how easy it is to make a picture perfect and delicious Stromboli each and every time!

She printed the 30% off coupon right from their website at Aeropostale.com. The promotion is from August 12th through August 15th.

Sunday, August 1, 2010 - Time for Family Unofficially Launches

We are still some months away from officially launching our website. However we are launching it today, because in a few hours my son Ryan goes off to college. He will be staying off campus renting an apartment. He loves to cook so we wanted him to have access to our favorite family recipes.

As I write this, I am holding back my tears because I know how much we will miss him. Ryan is my oldest child and the first one of three to leave our nest. We are so proud of you Ryan...We Love You with All of our Heart!

Love,  Mom, Dad, Nikki and Alyssa
